Updated the links page. 11.03.03 • It has been one busy weekend, trying to catch my breath. Halloween night we played music into the wee hours of the morn at Sinhouse Slidell. There was open bar for the band, and you could tell by looking at us by the end of the night i'm sure. I'm not sure if it was the free drinks or the cute nun serving them that kept us near the trough. I do know that I woke up with a busted lip, I think it was from the keyboardist, Aden, for not drinking to his satisfaction. I got on the ball after that. After oozing out of bed and into my boots with a few hours of sleep, I lugged my ass out to the ren-fest. The weather was nice, if not a little hot. Ah, Violence, cleavage and corsets, these are few of my favorite things. The new location for the combat ring is working out rather well. We have some shade and a larger crowd. Hopefully the Ordo Procinctus will pick up a few new members this season. I'll have some pics from the halloween show and the Ren-fest on the relevant sites soon. 10.20.03 • I went and saw Reverand Hortan Heat with Southern Culture on the skids last week. It was a fun show. I'm not really into rock-a-billy, but the shows are usually pretty fun. I'm trying to nurse my injured rib and get into shape for the re-fest at the same time. It's painfully fun. This whole month is nuts. Ren-fest prep, Music, Regular Work, Freelance Work, injury. I'll make it to the other side though. in 12 days I'll have a breather one way or the other side. 10.13.03 • Well, I managed to take a 4 foot dive DIRECTLY onto my ribs while skateboarding. It’s Kind of a dance party with an odd location and demographic. It’s held in some giant bank building in New Orleans on the corner of Barrone and common. This place is fucking incredible. Totally cherried out. 50 foot ceilings, marble floors and walls, gigantic greeco-roman pillars. The whole place reeks of lavish late Victorian opulence .I can’t imagine how much money was sunk into this building. OK, now you have that picture in your head. Add a Stage with bad ass remote lighting effects, slamming DJs, and half naked hot chicks in fetish gear grinding it like they mean it. This scene is populated by upwardly-mobiles in the late twenties, early thirties range. Most the ladies are strut’n their stuff in as little as legally possible. I think I'm going to pick it apart and spend more time considering it's individual parts. If you are looking for a copy, the translation I read was very good, "BOOK OF 5 RINGS for the Martial Artist, Stephen F. Kaufman - Hanshi 10th Dan". It contains a lot of practical combat psychology from a renown samurai without the flowery metaphores that are so common in chinese works such as Sun Tzu's "Art of War". It was fun other than the fact that I got kicked in the dick ( you may cheer and laugh now, get it out of your system) . NOT in the balls, but DIRECTLY in the dick. I didn't have any of that ball-kick nausia, but it was pretty unpleasant. There was a little swelling, well actually that was kind of cool. After laying in the dirt for 5 minuites I was pretty much OK. As much as everyone loves hearing about my dick, I'll move on to other subjects. Now that I think of it, I've been doing nothing but nursing my wounds for the last 24 hours. 2.27.03 • Mardi Gras really snuck up on me this year. I havn't made a costume or plans yet. I'm sure I can whip something up out of my costume closet. I'll probably head out to st. Charles ave for the parades. I know a couple of gentlemen out that way, so I'll have a place to pee and pass out. In other news, I'm theoreticaly closing the refi on my house this friday. Theoreticaly. My insomnia has returned with a vengance and I am no longer armed with ambian. Other than that the weekend was fun. I had a Party at my house on friday night. It was small, but fun. I bounced around a parade saturday night, till I tired of the crowds. We all went to Mathews house to watch the Tyson fight. Had our beer and snacks all layed out. Got comfy on the couch. 53 seconds it was over. Okay, I guess we'll just drink this beer now. Sunday I went to a play that I would highly recommend, "the Women". It was very insightfull and honest about the nature of female social circles. It's overall moral seemed to be: If you are a women do what you need to do to have the things you want, and never take the advice of women around you. These "friends" will surley ruin you life. I liked how the male characters are never shown. The entire play is the social situations of the women interacting with their friends and female members of their family. I was pleasantly suprised to see something so honest, and contrary to modern social programming on the stage. We don't make the rules, nature does, and if you want to survive, you would do well to have a good honest look at how things work. In reality, not in our minds or on television. 2.18.03 • I attended a debate on affirmative action last night. It was less a debate, and more a slaughter. It was hard data and numbers verses poorly spoken rhetoric about intent. Entertaining none the less. 2.17.03 • crazy women. you love them. you hate them. 2.10.03 • I attended a Civil War ball this past weekend. It was a good time. Skirts dancing and swinging around like ringing church bells. I think I'll rent gone with the wind tonight. I did have to do alot of driving though. That kind of sucked.I had to do a painful amount of driving through the gray, depressing, exceedingly long back roads of Louisiana . I'm not sure why there are so many churhes out there, it's the most god-forsaken place I've seen. Especially, Slaughter LA. I'm not even going to get into the the painfully stupid signs adorning these back woods temples of ignorance and bad taste. I did manage to have fun overall. I got to see some friends, and that's always good. I'll try to post some pics soon. 2.03.03 • Almost finished painting my kitchen silver. It's taken 3 coats, my ribs hurt from spending hour apon hour doing the "paint the fence Danialeson" flapping motion. I believe that soon I will be able to flap stong enough to fly around my house.Being kicked in the ribs at the monthly tournament did nothing to help this condition. Fortunatley, the aching in my shoulder is distracting me from all of that unpleasantness. In other news, I made the mistake of trying to do a few things after I took my sleep drugs. I've never halucinated that hard in my life. After the chair I was sitting in slowed to a safe speed, I dove off and rolled to safety. I managed to make into my sheets safe and wiser. 1.27.03 • updated the body section. I found some old pictures that shine light on my glorious dorkdom. All the crap they have me on for insomnia is killing my normal copious amounts of motivation. Lately I just havn't been that little ray of sunshine that I normaly am. I'm going to try to upload some artwork this weekend after I chase that foul oder out of my refridgerator. In other news, music is getting all fucked up, I'll try to write more about in the audio section, If I manage to pull myself away from Vice City long enough. 1.13.03 • updated audio section 1.9.03 • Well, at last I know why I've had Insomnia my whole life. I have hypoglycemia ! Yeah! Today I drug my sleep deprived ass to the doctor, as I could no longer function. During the regular tests, they noticed my blood suger was at 75, around 140 being normal level. So lots of peanut butter before bed. Lot's of meat and suger, I think I can handle this. They also gave me a script for Ambien. Fuck. That shit will fuck you up. You are in a whole other world, it seems to fuck with your perception of reality a little. You need to take it and go strait to bed before you have time to get into any trouble. It's good to have more than 4 hours of sleep in a night, which was previously a foriegn idea to me. 1.6.03 • The gig at The Firehouse in Covington was alot of fun. I knew almost every motherfucker in there, so there was a kind of feel'n at home mood. Thanks to everyone who came out. Now that the holidays are over I should be updateing a little more frequently. I'm thinking about putting together a Black Metal Opera. Part German opera, part black metal, part preformance art. I got in free with the magazine, so I’m not sure of the cost. I‘m pretty sure it’s an annual event, check it out if you get the chance. In my old age I’m not used to partying till 7am any more, I think I’m still recovering. I needed a little vacation from work anyway. I’ve been seriously busting ass working for the $. You know how it is, the more you work, the less money you seem to have. I think I want to retire.
Been super fucking busy with free lance work in the Adult Magazine Industry. I hope that work picks up enough for to ditch my current job.
