All things holy

And she stirs in me things I thought long dead with an upward glance and a smile,

And like a mother she makes me a child, for through her, I am reborn,

And like a christ, she bore the pains of my inadequacies unflinchingly,

And loved me still.

And as the angels did come down and see that the daughters of man were fair,

I too beheld her in awe.

And as did Adam weep when he found one who was as himself,

so I did weep when she spoke my name with her lips.

But as all these failed us and fell from high, so too did we perish and fall,

And as Adam was betrayed and cast into oblivion,

So too was I.
